I felt the weight before I understood it.
A heaviness that arrived without warning,
long before I was strong enough to lift it.
But the burden did not crush me.
It carved me.
It shaped the space inside me
where my name could finally echo.
I used to think the weight was punishment.
Now I see it was memory —
a remembering of who I was meant to become.
The burden is not mine to escape.
It is mine to carry
until it becomes the person I am.
