The Last Cassette Tape

Posted on January 15, 2023

It’s scratched, it skips, and it only plays if you press play twice—but this cassette tape, passed down through three cousins, holds more than music. It’s laughter, static, and memory rolled in plastic.

In MARANTU’s archive of artefacts, this tape reminds us that not everything old is obsolete. Some things are relics, yes—but others are roots.

What artefacts do you carry? A broken necklace? A WhatsApp screenshot? A half-heard lullaby? In these objects, our stories live.
