Reimagining the Commons

Posted on April 12, 2024
No Comments

At MARANTU, the idea of the commons is not just historical—it’s living. We’ve created an interactive timeline that maps the evolution of shared spaces in our communities, from ancestral land to modern digital networks. This document invites you to trace, annotate, and contribute your own experiences of “the commons.”

Why interactive? Because memory is layered. This is not a static archive; it’s a living quilt stitched together by many voices. Every mark you make—whether a note, a story, or an image—adds dimension to our collective understanding.

As you explore, consider the question: What spaces do we still share today, and what have we lost to privatization, to algorithms, to fences? This document is an invitation to reflect, respond, and rebuild new commons—together.
